A pair of Chinese Ancestor Portraits

Watercolor on paper ceremonial portraits depicting a seated nobleman and noblewoman in richly detailed court attire. Presented in later textile-wrapped frames with gilt trim and glass. Fine hand-painted detailing throughout, including embroidered rank badges, floral ground decoration, and traditional Qing court robes in cobalt blue, coral, celadon, ivory, and gold tones. The large scale and symmetrical presentation give the pair strong decorative presence while retaining a formal, collected character. Likely late Qing Dynasty or later examples after earlier imperial court portrait traditions.
